Under Illinois rules, a mover cannot require you to pay more than a set percentage above a non-binding written estimate before unloading your goods. Beyond that protection, our own practice is simpler: if something on move day would change your price, your crew lead stops, names the charge and the amount, and gets your okay before doing the work. No charge appears on your bill for the first time at the end of the day.
