Moving companies that are labor-only movers are not regulated by the Illinois Commerce Commission. This means that they might not have requirements for insurance for their teams. We come prepared with insured and protected movers every time.

We come with a mentality around the logistics of your move. We ask questions related to the logistics of your PODS, your truck size, and other factors that could affect not only your quote with us, but your entire move.

We bring dollies, straps, wrap and blankets, to ensure that your move is handled professionally. If you’d like to purchase supplies from us when loading (or unloading) we’d be happy to ensure you’re fully stocked for your move.
What to expect
Liability Can Be Tricky
Our teams are responsible for accidents on-site. However it’s important to know that we aren’t liable for how carefully clients drive their truck after they leave or come to site. We do our best to carefully load and unload items. We do record and document throughout the move so you can provide claims to the right folks.
Billed Hourly
We bill hourly on a specific labor-structure that is a bit less than our hourly mover + truck rates. We tend to bring a company vehicle to ensure that we’re well prepared, and the hourly charges include more than “just hands on deck”.
Unknown Factors
If you are unsure of your PODS size, or storage belongings, we’ll likely send a crew based on the total capacity of your PODS or storage unit. This ensures we don’t give you too small of a team, and it ensures our team is not at risk of creating any damages or having any injuries by an underquote.

AMTR came in and saved my recent residential move after I had a snafu and needed last-minute help. Thank you to David and Trix (sp?) in the front office. They went above and beyond to process my request and coordinate my last-minute move during busy season. These folks are staying late to make sure their customers and teams are all set. I'm glad I didn't cry on the phone because they didn't ask for that, but I was so relieved I could have! Onsite, foreman Lancaster and his team of three were so kind and efficient. They worked hard through intense heat, a sudden torrential downpour, power going out leading to a darkened stairwell, and moving extra items from my last-minute packing. My items all arrived safe and the guys were careful with my things. I did a lot of prepacking and wrapping, but they made sure that everything I didn't think to wrap or box was protected. We used AMTR to move from Chicago to NYC and had a fantastic experience. Each step of the way they took care of everything & communication was phenomenal. Lancaster, Orlando, Eduardo, and Benji took care of packing everything up and loading up the truck. They were extremely careful with our stuff, going above and beyond to separate fragile items and giving extra care to make sure they made it to NYC safely. Since this was a 2 day process, they even made sure to leave a few things to the next day (toothbrushes, soap, etc) so we had everything we needed in the evening. They were prompt, responsive, and finished everything so quickly! During the whole process, Trix & David were great about communicating with us each step of the way, and Trix personally drove our stuff out himself after someone else was out sick to ensure that we were able to get everything moved within a tight weekend timeline. I’m super grateful we went with AMTR and would highly recommend them!! I’ve probably moved 10+ times in the last 15 years and this was easily the most stress-free move I’ve ever had.

Orlando, Francisco, and Eduardo did a fantastic job helping us move into our new condo despite the setbacks. They arrived a few hours late due to a prior move that morning, and halfway through our move in Wicker Park, the elevator broke! They had no choice but to walk our heavy furniture down the stairs from the 4th floor. Through all the difficulties, they remained positive and professional, and at the end of the day, they were able to move everything into our new home in Albany Park without damaging a single item AND managed to keep to the four-hour schedule despite losing the elevator.
