Virtual Estimations
We use LiveSwitch to review videos of your space virtually to provide the most accurate and clear quote. When we get virtual information from clients, it assists us in planning for their moves.
Licensed and Insured
By being licensed, we follow the regulations of the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), and by being insured we can provide Certificates of Insurance* to your building management.
Flexible Scheduling
Weekday, Weekend and evening moves available. We can book your move on a tight turnaround, or multiple months in advance with no rescheduling fees.

We bring all supplies and carefully pack everything from dishes to artwork, based on your needs.
What to expect
Your estimate
We walk through your home virtually and build an inventory. You get a written estimate with the crew, the truck, the expected hours, and every possible charge listed
Your confirmation
After you book, you’ll get a pre-move info guide, and a short checklist of what to have ready. You’ll also receive a phrasebook to communicate with our bi-lingual team, and access to informative videos.
Move day
Your crew lead does a recorded walkthrough with you so the condition of your home and your things is documented on both ends. Your team will communicate with you throughout the move.
Your bill
You sign a Bill of Lading or contract, and anything added during the day was told to you when it happened. We aim for no surprises on your bill or on move day.
What's included
We Mean Transparency
All household goods moving companies are required by the State of Illinois to follow the rates that we each file with the state. That may mean getting different pricing from different movers for the same move size and quoted cost. We believe you should know prior to the date of your move what charges may change your move cost.
Minimum & Travel Charges
We charge a 2.5 hour minimum, and an hourly travel time charge based on the miles between our home base + origin & destination + our home base.
Overtime Charges
We charge “overtime” for any weekday move after 4:30PM and before 8:00AM OR anytime on any weekend or holiday dates. Our Overtime Charge is only $10 per hour per person, and defined as “at request of the shipper (that’s you!), landlord or public ordinances.”
Fourth-Floor Walk-ups
Townhomes or apartments that include a fourth floor walk-up do incur an additional hourly rate. Single-items needing to be moved up four floors or higher - due to them being too large for an elevator to accommodate - incur an additional fee.
Hoisting Items
We can hoist items of reasonable weights that don’t fit up or through stairwells for $100 per article. We do not offer services requiring a crane.
Packing Materials
These charges are defined in our Container Rentals Program under the rental and purchasable supplies sections.
Overnight Holds
In the event that we are to hold onto your items overnight, we will charge $300/Night in the Summer and $200/Night during the winter.
Extra Labor Charges
In the event that you request personal assistance, personal organization, or services outside of the typical expectations or job scope of a moving company, you will still be charged at an hourly rate equivalent to the hourly rates estimated for your move.

AMTR came in and saved my recent residential move after I had a snafu and needed last-minute help. Thank you to David and Trix (sp?) in the front office. They went above and beyond to process my request and coordinate my last-minute move during busy season. These folks are staying late to make sure their customers and teams are all set. I'm glad I didn't cry on the phone because they didn't ask for that, but I was so relieved I could have! Onsite, foreman Lancaster and his team of three were so kind and efficient. They worked hard through intense heat, a sudden torrential downpour, power going out leading to a darkened stairwell, and moving extra items from my last-minute packing. My items all arrived safe and the guys were careful with my things. I did a lot of prepacking and wrapping, but they made sure that everything I didn't think to wrap or box was protected. We used AMTR to move from Chicago to NYC and had a fantastic experience. Each step of the way they took care of everything & communication was phenomenal. Lancaster, Orlando, Eduardo, and Benji took care of packing everything up and loading up the truck. They were extremely careful with our stuff, going above and beyond to separate fragile items and giving extra care to make sure they made it to NYC safely. Since this was a 2 day process, they even made sure to leave a few things to the next day (toothbrushes, soap, etc) so we had everything we needed in the evening. They were prompt, responsive, and finished everything so quickly! During the whole process, Trix & David were great about communicating with us each step of the way, and Trix personally drove our stuff out himself after someone else was out sick to ensure that we were able to get everything moved within a tight weekend timeline. I’m super grateful we went with AMTR and would highly recommend them!! I’ve probably moved 10+ times in the last 15 years and this was easily the most stress-free move I’ve ever had.

Orlando, Francisco, and Eduardo did a fantastic job helping us move into our new condo despite the setbacks. They arrived a few hours late due to a prior move that morning, and halfway through our move in Wicker Park, the elevator broke! They had no choice but to walk our heavy furniture down the stairs from the 4th floor. Through all the difficulties, they remained positive and professional, and at the end of the day, they were able to move everything into our new home in Albany Park without damaging a single item AND managed to keep to the four-hour schedule despite losing the elevator.
